Grass Valley Highlights Mobile Production, 3D
April 13, 2010
Jeff Rosica, senior vice president of
Grass Valley, opened the company’s NAB
Show press conference with an update on
its pending sale, noting that “discussions are
still ongoing with interested buyers.”
Rosica then touted the company’s recent
successes in mobile production, noting a
“dramatic increase in the amount of business
we’ve done in this part of the broadcast
industry.”
New customer deployments include the
integration of 10 Grass Valley LDK 8000
Elite WorldCam HD cameras and a Kayenne
HD Video Production Center in Token
Creek’s Olympian HDX OB truck.
Grass Valley is featuring a 3D demo
that highlights its LDK 8000 cameras and
switchers, as well as recording and server
compatibility with the new Panasonic AG-
3DA1 3D camcorder.
Rather than focusing on new standalone
products, Grass Valley is concentrating on
upgrading existing products to 3D capability.
“There are no 3D-specific products,” said
Ray Baldock, company CTO. “Our existing
gear is 3D-ready today.”
New product launches include Ignite
Konnect, which provides automation control
of Grass Valley Kalypso and Kayenne
switchers, as well as several new features
for the K2 Dyno Production Assistant.
