Wheatstone Unveils ‘Next-Generation’ E-1 Control Surface
April 13, 2010
The E-1 control surface from
Wheatstone Corp. makes its debut at the
NAB Show, offering what the company
describes as a new form factor for radio
consoles.
Its angled user input section creates
superior view angles for displays and
assigns switches, while maintaining over-the-console sight lines. The LCD display
eliminates the need for an external video
monitor while providing the metering and
function access needed in a surface of its
class, the manufacturer says.
The E-1 provides most of the
functionality as the higher model E
Series surfaces in a smaller footprint.
The company also emphasizes its
affordability. Paired with Wheatstone’s
new ip88cb audio Console Blade, the
E-1 Control Surface Console provides
a standalone/networkable WheatNet-IP
solution for under $10,000.
Features include a mix-minus output
from every input channel that can use any
console bus as its reference mix. Each
channel also has direct to source talkback
and auto-switching between On Air and
Off Line mix minus.
Providing 99 show presets,
programmable soft switches, router-based
source/monitor control and multiple
frame sizes, the board is suitable for a
variety of project sizes.
