OpenCube Builds D-Cinema Gateway
April 21, 2009
Widely used as a DDR server with HD I/O in post-production applications, the OpenCubeHD v2.2 server now offers the tools needed to create DCI-compliant Digital Cinema Packages.
Users can control each step of the digital master creation process before files are sent to D-Cinema theatres.
It can take uncompressed 2K/4K file-format pictures, convert RGB/YUV color to X'Y'Z', and standardized look-up tables can be downloaded to optimize the process. Pictures are then encoded into JPEG 2000 and wrapped in MXF file format.
A complete DCP is created with the composition play list and the packaging play list, as well as encryption, for safe media delivery.
