Miranda Refines With Innovation

April 21, 2009

Michel Proulx
Michel Proulx, CTO of Miranda Technologies, announced a refined company focus following the acquisition of Nvision, as well as an innovative product symbolic of the next technology wave.

"Our strategy is to tightly integrate our products while adding functionality and making them simpler," Proulx said.

Nvision brings strength in routers and control units, which Miranda will merge into a strategy to maximize integration. One application is the creation of massive monitor walls by combining routers and multi-viewers together.

Proulx admitted that this year's emphasis on integration and cost-cutting is a bit bland, so he introduced a product "to add some cheer." Miranda is offering the industry's first stereoscopic 3D multi-viewer — the Kaleido-X16 with 16 video inputs. The new product allows for multi-camera monitoring in a 3D production environment. This is applicable for live 3D production of sports and other events.

Proulx explained that stereoscopic television will likely be the next innovation wave that fuels the consumer switch to large-screen TVs.
