Cooke Optics, manufacturer of lenses for the motion picture industry, is highlighting its 5/i Prime lenses, S4 Prime lenses and lightweight Panchro lenses at the 2011 NAB Show.
Cooke’s 5/i Prime lenses were recently used on Martin Scorsese’s 3D feature “Hugo Cabret,” and are currently in use on director Stephen Daldry’s “Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close.”
Cinematographer Darius Khondji, ASC, AFC, who used the 5/i Prime lenses on Woody Allen’s upcoming feature “Midnight in Paris,” reports, “They give beautiful, soft images, but with a slight crispness; there is something more incisive, more modern about them, but they retain that sensuousness and roundness that Cooke lenses are known for.”
