Prime Image announced the introduction of the Time Tailor 4000 series. The next generation of the patented Time Tailor includes feature sets of the recently updated tape-based TT3500, including support for Dolby-E audio.

“The TT 4000 is a new file-based Time Tailor that supports networking and file-based A/V transfers with an Ethernet port” said Jim Maury, the chief technology officer of Prime Image. “The TT 4000 supports MXF, DNX 145 and other broadcast quality HD or SD file formats.”

Using the TT 4000, time reduction of video content occurs in real time without pre-recording or pre-processing. The synchronization and quality of the video, and audio remain in intact without using video bit compression or playout speed changes to reduce program duration. Program segment run times can be reduced while leaving other program segments unchanged (i.e. advertising spots, credits and user specified segments).
