During the Hewlett-Packard press conference on Tuesday, Josh
Peterson, the company’s product marketing manager
for workstations, presented an all-fronts-addressed
showcase for the company’s new Intel
Xeon-powered W-series EliteBook laptops and
the entry-level Z210 Convertible Minitower
(CMT) and Small Form Factor (SFF) desktops.
From pricing to processing speed to industrial-design styling that any urbane professional
can appreciate, HP is looking to satisfy customer
expectations however possible.
Seeking to dispel HPs old “corporate” user
image, Peterson invited Lance Holte of Bandito
Brothers — a thrill-seeking full-service
production house specializing in commercial
work, adventure programming and
military promos — to join him for a brief Q&A-style chat.
While the ruggedness of HP’s mobile
workstations and high-quality fidelity of their
DreamColor displays were touted, Holte’s
projects involving Navy SEALs and similarly
macho subject matter infused the discussion
with energy.
HP’s Renja Subramaniam, product manager
for Entry Workstations, and John A.
Hengeveld, director of Technical Computing
Marketing, detailed the tech specs on the new
machines, while Efrain Rovira, director of
Mobile Workstations, touted the fashionable
designs of the three EliteBook
models.
