The new Sonnox Fraunhofer Pro-Codec plug-in auditions up to five codecs in real time within a DAW environment, produces an optimized mix and batch encodes to multiple formats simultaneously. All major codecs, including MP3, MP3 Surround, AAC-LC and HE-AAC are supported, as are lossless codecs such as MP3 HD and HDAAC.

Fraunhofer is showcasing true loudness control with metadata for its AAC family of audio codecs (AAC-LC and HE-AAC) to meet the requirements of current and future broadcasting systems. AAC codecs include full metadata support.

Fraunhofer also is launching its verification program — enabling customers to place the Fraunhofer logo on devices to verify the audio quality of Fraunhofer HEAAC decoder implementations. The verified products will have passed the verification test in in different real-life scenarios.
