TV Logic Announces 3D, 4K Monitors
April 14, 2010
At a press conference yesterday, TV
Logic announced 2D and 3D versions of a
15” OLED monitor. The new monitors, the
2D LEM-150 and 3D TDM-150W, have all
the benefits of organic light-emitting diode
technology, such as an extremely wide field
of view and high contrast ratios.
Wes Donahue, regional sales manager
for PRECO, TV Logic’s U.S. distributor,
said that OLED is superior to standard LCD
monitors because the display surface is
actually emitting the light being viewed.
“This makes OLED much faster, and the
contrast ratio is 100,000:1,” said Donahue.
“As you move off-axis, there’s no drop-off
of screen brightness.”
For 3D use, the TDM-150W requires
active-shutter glasses. The unit features
1366×768 resolution — Donahue said that a
larger OLED monitor with higher resolution
is in the pipeline.
There were several other new products
from TV Logic, including a 56-inch 4K
monitor with a display resolution of
3840×2160 pixels. The LUM-560W is
targeted at high-end cinema post production,
military and industrial applications.
TV Logic also introduced a line of largescreen
LCD monitors that are LED backlit
and feature 120 Hz refresh rates, as well as a
46” narrow-bezel videowall monitor with a
built-in 6×6 display processor.
